In honor of May’s Osteoporosis Awareness and Prevention Month, a three week 45 minute exercise class will be offered weekly beginning on Tuesday, April 26, at 4pm Eastern Time. It was developed for those who are looking to learn how to strength train and stretch safely with osteoporosis. Studies have shown that resistance, weight-bearing, and impact exercises help to build bone density. It is crucial to learn how to exercise properly because the wrong exercises or improper form can lead to fractures and injury. This series will show you the exercises that should be performed, the exercises that should be modified, and the exercises that should be avoided. The classes will help you to improve your balance and posture.
You should obtain clearance from your healthcare provider before beginning any new exercise routine. You will need hand weights, a mat, and a resistance band and you will receive a Zoom invite the evening before each class.
To register for this 3 week series for those new to strength training, please send an email to caroljmichaels@gmail.com and visit www.CarolMichaelsFitness.com.
